Kindergarten
Kindergarten classes are full day, small (class size maximum is 10) and personal.
Our students are expected to follow simple life rules and manners.
To be courteous, polite, cooperate with classmates and staff. Be prepared for class, trustworthy, kind and friendly.
Parents are expected to have their child arrive on time for class. To help in the responsibility of being prepared daily for class.
Each child is given text and tools to work with. Students are provided with their own personal space to keep their tools and texts.
The children learn the basics and more of Mathematics, Reading, Phonetics, Spelling, Social Studies, Science, Handwriting, Music, Art and more.
Children are given responsibilities. The class is taught how to accept responsibility and use it to their advantage.
Homework is given daily Monday through Thursday to reiterate the work done in the class. This gives them a foundation to build on at home by showing you what they are working on and how they can do it! It gives you the parent the opportunity to join in and witness your child’s school growth.
Sea Sides Kindergarten students generally score above average and are well prepared to enter any first grade private or public.
Students are taught superior self-esteem tactics to comfortable tackle situations and future challenges in their worlds.
Many new and different learning projects and experiences are offered throughout the school year.
Each student is respected for his or her learning type. We try to help each class foster their strengths as a group. Some classes are stronger in Reading, while others in the Arts. Some classes will prosper in Science and others in Social Sciences. Whatever we try our best to find those gifts and work with them.
We try to provide opportunities for parent participation.
